I don't have this card, DH does. He got it close to a year ago before I 'got into' credit stuff. Prior to getting the card, he had prime and I've been under his membership/account, whatever.
I just see that Prime renewed and was charged to a different card. Isn't it beneficial to have prime bill to the Amazon card? Or does the Amazon card get prime benefits even if the prime membership posts to our EDP? Meaning doesn't the 5% off/special financing offers come with the prime-aspect, not just the card?
I try to stay out of this card and what's going on with it. It's his domain. But I want to make sure he's getting all the benefits he can with it. (At least until Discover ends up being a better deal to charge things to).
FWIW I tried to get him to ask for a CLI since it's a small card with a small limit and he said he didn't want to. I think overall, that's probably a good move, util padding or not. LOL.
Store card isn't an option when paying for Prime. Must use bank CC.
Ah, thanks. But if you've got Prime (paid for with bank CC) then you get 5% etc. benefits?
Correct. You get the 5% statement credit on everything as a Prime member. On anything you spend above $149 in price, you have the option of choosing the 5% credit, or 6-months no interest on those purchases.
As an aside, I'm a bit surprised that he hasn't been given an auto CLI. SYNCB and before that GE has been really good about increasing my limit every so often.

That is no longer the case, actually. Amazon sent out an email about three weeks ago saying you could now use the store card to pay for prime, but you had to manually enable the feature.

I think he's gotten something small, but I think if he asked he'd get a heck of a lot more. Again, if he doesn't want to, I know agree it's good that he doesn't.

+1 - I immediately switched my payment method when I received the email.
