Hello, everyone.
I’m a new member here but I’ve been lurking for several months in an attempt to educate myself on the workings of FICO scores and credit more generally.
I just thought I’d share a tidbit of information which may prove useful to some of the members here, especially since my experience conflicts with what I have previously read here as it pertains to credit reallocation on American Express cards.
Today I was approved for a $1,000 credit reallocation by Amex from my $4,000 limit EveryDay card (non-Preferred) to my $4,000 limit Blue Cash EveryDay card.
Previously I’ve read that Amex will not approve a reallocation until the donor card is 13 months old and the recipient card is 2 months old, but my first statement cut for each card earlier this week.
The accounts were opened on the same day last month with one hard Experian credit inquiry. I called for recon on the first and was approved immediately for the second card.
My profile is also dirty. My FICO scores are: TU-668 EQ-672 EX-661 (Experian was 675 at time of application).
I have 4 open accounts in collections, 2 of which are sub-$300 medical debts from 2016. One is a Capital One chargeoff from 2011 and one is owed to a university from 2012.
I hope this helps anyone looking to reallocate their credit within the initial 13 month period.
