We have to stop perpetuating this notion that Amex or any other creditor for that matter is taking AA against one of their cardholders for basically nothing. There is always something more to the story than we know.
I'm just conveying what I read as a potential datapoint and what was allegedly told to this person who doesn't seem to have any reason to make things up. Like I noted I subsequently realized they had indicated it was the Canadian version of the Plat which could be playing by totatally different rules. However, I think its risky to just ignore datapoints all together. By the way it was not a FR. The accounts were not closed. The credit line was decreased and they are submitting paperwork not because they are required but because they want to get the internal line back to where it was.

Thank you Irish.
Personally I find most AA speculation threads to be not a good use of anyone's time and energy. The only person who truly, 100% knows why it happened is Amex and perhaps the person it happened to. Everyone else is just speculating based on what they've been told, and there's not much point as the reasons are usually pretty obvious if one takes an honest look at the situation.

Again just conveying what the person said they were told. I could less about that person's card and I am not asking for people to speculate or to engage in a speculation thread. The point of the thread was to ask if anyone else had a similiar experience as I had not heard of such a reason being given before on a credit reduction and I wanted to see if I had missed something.
