I requested an American Express BCE Dual Interface replacement card, and it just arrived. However, to me it looks like its just a regular chip card, there are no antenna wires visible in the transparent plastic for the Expresspay contactless feature, nor is there the wireless symbol on the back of the card.
After talking to an apparently clueless American Express CSR, who kept telling me the card I requested was Chip & Signature with Contactless (yes, I know what I ordered, my question is about what I received) and saying that there is no wireless symbol on the contactless cards, all the chip cards can do contactless, etc, etc. I eventually got tired of listening to it.
So I ask you, does someone out there have an American Express Dual Interface transparent card? Can you still see the antenna loops, and is there still the wireless symbol?

I believe when I received my chip card, I kept the contactless payment method. If no one else knows, I will try it out tonight and post back in the morning.

Why don't you take it out for a spin and find out if it's really contactless?

Yes, I went through the same. Ordered chip and signature with contactless. Received card without contactless. Never bothered to call them back, as I barely use the card and will probably cancel it sooner rather than later. I didn't try it in a shop because it is obvious it does not support contactless. If I place the Amex near the back of my phone, nothing happens. If I put my HSBC contactless card near the back of my phone, it bleeps, indicating that the card supports NFC.
I recently received the dual interface BCE. First time I went through chat and requested it, I only received the regular chip card in the mail. Second time, I called up the CSR. They discovered that the first person only put the replacement status reason as requesting 'Contactless' which is not enough. They also have to select some other option in their system to actually get the Contactless card. That's something worth mentioning to the CSR if you want to get a contactless card.
Why don't you go test it before assuming it doesn't work?
Mine lost contactless. lol
Is this only available on the BC cards?

Because it is much more likely that Amex CSRs messed up than a card without the wireless symbol is contactless?
