Amex BCE dual interface card question

Re: Amex BCE dual interface card question

I have this card. There's definitely the antenna wires and the contactless symbol on it. Unfortunately it doesn't work at some places (that I've used Apple Pay at with the exact card without issue, even!) AmEx CSRs are apparently clueless as to why and keep sending me new cards (which also don't work), so I stopped bothering using the contactless feature on the card. It's a shame because Apple Pay isn't really an option for a large number of people--Google Wallet doesn't give you bonus points with AmEx for instance and there are also people who will never use a phone or watch to pay.

Anyway, maybe the issues I'm having are why they're not making it opt-out like in other countries? Even then, the US is the only place I know of where cards come without contactless and you have to explicitly request it, assuming it's from one of the few banks that even have it as an option. Totally weird.

EDIT: Google may have fixed the rewards issue with AmEx according to other posts.

Re: Amex BCE dual interface card question

Just got my second replacement card. And its actually Dual Interface. Antenna wires and wireless symbol and the EMV contact pad for the chip.

It would have to be raining heavy right now, so I cant actually go someplace and use it...
