Amex BCP Amazon SUB- what’s excluded?

Does anyone know if you can use the current Amex BCP SUB of 20% cash back Amazon to renew your annual Prime membership? Couldn't find anything in the terms and conditions about it. I've currently been having the monthly $12.99 charged to my Amazon card,l but if I can get the annual fee for $95 after cash back that's a no brainer.

Has anyone done this and successfully received the cash back credit?

Update: it worked!! $23.80 cash back posted this morning. Great deal for annual Prime renewal. Loving this SUB!

I was actually just reading the fine print on that a few hours ago, was disappointed to find out that the 20% wouldn't work for pre-buying Amazon credit to use at my leisure.

"Eligible purchases include purchases of products and services, minus returns and other credits. Purchases must be made at Amazon.com, or via the US Amazon mobile app using your new Card. Excludes purchases of Amazon.com and third-party gift cards, as well as corporate gift card and custom-designed gift card purchases. Not valid at international sites owned and/or operated by Amazon or websites affiliated with/linked to/from Amazon.com. Offer not valid for Amazon Go, Amazon Local, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Home & Business Services, Amazon Currency Converter, Home Services, Prime Photos, Amazon Inspire, Amazon Video Direct, Amazon business, Amazon Global, or Amazon Drive."

As far as I can tell, Amazon Prime Membership should be eligible, since's it's a service that is not a gift card or 3rd party.

Thanks. The Amex Rep said it "may" not count via chat, but didn't seem too certain. I think I'll do it regardless. Even if I don't get the cash back it'll count towards the 3k spend SUB.

As previously mentioned you're arguably purchasing a service and not something that is or can be readily converted into a cash equivalent.  You shouldn't have a problem.

Intersting, do you get the 5% on Prime membership fee? I haven't yet found a good card to pay for Prime to maximize points/CB, most I seem to earn is 2% on the DC.

I'm on a SUB that gets 20% cash back. I switched the annual fee to pull tomorrow from the Amex so I should know shortly if it works or not. So far my other Amazon purchases have actually gotten 21% back. 20% for SUB + 1% that you'd normally get.
