Amex Backdoor - 3 questions

I was approved last night for a delta gold amex card. (yay), however the limit is not quite where I would like it to be.

- Would it hurt to call a backdoor number and kindly ask for a slightly higher limit?

- What would be the best # to call?

- What are the best hours to call?

Thanks for the help Smiley Happy

Re: Amex Backdoor - 3 questions

GL I don't think it will happen. Your best bet is to wait for the 61 day CLI.

Per the backdoor thread: AmEx: 800-230-1284 (Account Services - handles accounts with issues)
AmEx Executive Office: 800-297-6197

Don't know what hours.. just thought I'd offer my opinion. Smiley Happy

- Would it hurt to call a backdoor number and kindly ask for a slightly higher limit? Your best solution is to wait for 61 days and request for a CLI. It is very hard to appeal your CL for Amex. They will most likely require tax docs and do additional inquiries. Even after all that, they may not approve your request so personally I think it's too much trouble for what it's worth.

- What would be the best # to call? Check backdoor thread. You can also call EO.

- What are the best hours to call? for EO, you have to call during their operating hours.
