LOL! NOW we learn.
I'm sorry. I hope you don't have any problems with them. Amex is actually pretty easy to work with.

Oh, you don't have to be sorry. You might have done somebody a favor with that warning. FWIW, I did an online chat with Amex and the rep said there was no problem at all. I'll still be a little nervous next time I go to use that card. But I've also learned a couple of good things from this.
Ha, you guys crack me up. Guess it's just me that gets 2x the credit :/ my limits are smaller than you guys though at 2k and 4.5k. I'm sure people play with that button nonstop, I wouldn't be worried about it, plus amex is super understanding.
I wonder if it has something to do with how long your account has been opened? I think I tried it once in the past, out of curiousity and was told that I could spend more, but don't remember how much. I am just happy to have an Amex card, I don't want to go through any issues with them so I am not going to do anything to draw attention to myself! I don't want to veryify my income!
I have a $1000 limit on my Delta card and I am approved up to $2000. Anything over that is a no.

It seems when I check the spending ability, both cards are approved for exactly double their credit card limit when I check. If I have spending on the card it will get denied at the double limit but will always be approved for my AVAIL CREDIT + FULL CREDIT LIMIT.
I think it's pretty generous of amex to double the credit limit and never even brag about it, especially when there is no over limit fee.
Is this the case with you guys as well? ( It will only let you check spending ability 2x per day)What is your experience with going over the limit on an Amex card?
edit: grammar
If I remember correctly, my BCE allows charges up to $6k and has a credit limit of $4.3. I just tried my Blue Sky, and apparently I can do 6.5k on it (5k limit). They're definitely generous, and I find it odd that they don't really advertise that feature. It's great to know that if the need arises, you can basically charge whatever you need to on the card.
My 2 month old $2k limit SPG allows me to charge up to $7k, have done so too.

Hey, don't sweat it, it almost-2x also applied to me...I have a BCP with 7100 and a Blue with 6000. The Blue was actually approved up to 11000 something (probably due to small current balance). BCP was approved up to 13000...
