The best bet is to wait for 61 days after your account opening date, then request three times your starting limit. If AMEX deems your request to be too high but still wants to approve an increase, they'll counter with a lower amount.
If your starting limit is already relatively high, you might want to cap your request at a number between 30–34k to avoid the need for income verification (IV). If you're prompted for IV, you can hit the back button and request a lower amount. Any IV forms you receive in the mail can be ignored.
@AnonymousI just received a new card and it hasn’t even been 10 days! However I was wondering when the best time to ask for a CLI increase is. The app lets me attempt it and I don’t get any messages saying it’s too soon. Is it best to wait or try right away?
What was your starting limit and was was your EX FICO 8 score at the time of approval? Do you have other CC's and if so, what are their limits and where does your current utilization sit?
