1) Whats the lowest score you've seen someone get approved for ANY Amex card?

2) Which Amex card gives you best chance approval rate when borderline Fair/Good Credit?

Re: Amex Cards Questions

1.  I was approved with a 647.  That's pretty darn low for Amex, lower than most approvals I've seen around here, but it was still instant.  So there's room below that even.

2. Green/Gold charge cards, take your pick they are equally easy to get

That is pretty low, I was thinking a min of 700 ATLEAST. You possibly had other factors that helped you, do you know what they were?

How do you like your Charge cards?

The Delta Gold Amex doesent look too bad as I'm looking to rack up Travel points. The Amex Blue Cash is what really catches my attn

Those are both revolvers, and there's no way in h.e. double hockey sticks that they are easier to get than the charge cards.

I was approved for the Green charge with a score of 680 the other day. Wish I'd gone for gold. Then I applied for the Blue Cash and the application was canceled. Did some recon and they told me to reapply in 30 days and they'll be able to approve me. IDK...YMMV

Hilton Honors $15,000 | AMEX Green | Chase Sapphire Preferred $9000 | Discover IT $6600 | Marriott Premiere Rewards $5000 | Chase Freedom $5500 | Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards $2000 | CapitalOne Quicksilver One $2000 | US Airways Dividend Miles $2400

Well I have about 15 years of history, income over 100k, util 0.5% and the last baddies were over 6.7 years ago and ready to fall off. Perhaps Amex's scoring model doesn't penalize me as much as FICO is trashing me for those extremely old collections. But I had 5+ INQs on EX just from the week before I applied, so the credit gods were in a good mood that day for sure

I don't, is the short answer. I wouldn't have gotten one if I had been approved for a revolver. I consider them a means to an end. I'm certainly not paying $130/yr or whatever it is for no real perks besides roadside assistance. (Concert tickets and stuff? That's for hippies and teenagers. LOL) The rental car coverage and purchase protection etc I believe I get on Visa Signatures from other companies. There are so many frightening exclusions I don't know that I'd trust their car coverage anyway.
I'll be cancelling the charge card after I get something better. I just wanted my member since 2014 date. Now I got it. I'm happy.

Yea I'm not really a big fan of Charge Cards, I've read numerous reviews where people claim the the Annual fee is not worth the ben

I was more curious to know what the lowest score approved for a Amex Revolver

Re: Amex Cards Questions

Why not go to Amex's site and see what they show you for preapproved offers?  That should give you an idea.  If all they show you is the green/gold and the Everyday then that's probably not a good sign.
