Has anyone else heard of or done the surveys that Amex is using to guage opinion for a new Gold Charge Card?
It seems like they are coming for the Rewards market that the CSP has by putting 2X points on Dining and Travel. Since, I have an EDP I for one would love to get those spend categories under the same rewards roof. The annual fee they were suggesting was a bit high but I'd consider changing my non MR Senior Gold to one of these cards.

I wouldn't do it.
If you want to keep the SG, then keep that, and get an Everyday to earn MR with.

If they want to compete with the CSP then I think they should offer 3x points and lower the AF to $95. Otherwise its just not as appealing, since I consider URs slightly more valuable than Amex MRs. I don't see the appeal of a charge card when I can get the same thing (or better) in revolver form. I never have montly spend that exceeds my revolving limits. For a business with overhead I can understand, but as an individuall it doesn't provide a whole lot of benefit.

Just something to look at if you are comparing it to CSP. CSP has access to UR portal, while amex has sync offers. Also last time i checked the only two cards in amex lineup that don't have FT are plat and delta cards, unless thats changed i think CSP has slight edge.
