I recently applied and was approved for the American Express Hilton card. Pre bankruptcy I used to have this card. When I applied for the one I just got approved for, it showed me the sub I would get, but when the card came in the mail today there is no sub included. Is it because I have had this card before in the past? I can't find the answer to this question anywhere.

it doesn't say what the SUB is in the mail that you get
if you didn't get a little box when you applied that was like "sorry no SUB, do you want to continue to apply without the SUB", then you have a SUB and you should get the SUB that was applied to the application that you used.
you can ask support, but it's hit/miss if they'll be accurate about it

Thank you. It's All Coming Back to Me now. I think I remember having to call in the last time for the same situation. It's just been a good many years. On a positive note they did back date on my new card to 2014.

You mean the "member since" date? That is just a fun little tidbit (or bragging point if you care), doesn't affect your actual age of account anymore. My most recent AMEX in 2024 has "member since 95", but age on CR is just a few months.

Very aware of that. They used to backdate on credit reports, but that changed around 10 years ago. 😉
I've been on MyFico for 11 years. There's been a lot of changes.
Grats on the Hilton. Love the Hilton and there is a difference in the stays.
Thank you. I agree. My second favorite is Hyatt, but that card won't be coming anytime soon I'm afraid. 😕
Congrats. The Amex SUB conditions would be mentioned prior submitting the application (if it is not eligible, they mention it at that stage). So, it should be good to go.
Anyway after each approval, I always double check whether the correct SUB is attached to the new card by chatting the Amex customer service. I would take snapshot of the chat, especially for large SUBs.

Thank you! Yes. It was mentioned BUT it would not let me screenshot anything.

Yes, I am going to call. I remembered, after I posted this question, that I had to call back in 2014 about this exact situation as well. I just needed reminding. 😄
