Amex PC...

So I got approved for the gold Delta Skymiles credit card and wanted to PC to a BCE card because I dont travel much and the no annual fee.

I spoke to someone but I guess they couldnt do it but she said their system said I was eligible for a BCE anyways (applied for the other amex yesterday) I asked if it would be a hard or soft pull she said since my app is so new it would be soft. And I can just cancel the other card in the future and transfer the balance over.

I applied and only had to give the income just for security reasons or whatever and my address to verify it. I was approved but I asked the CL and she said it doesnt say and I'd have to call to get that info.

I checked my app status online and it's "In progress"  huh?

I can't call since they're closed. Unless theirs a secret number I don't know of.. I'd have to wait till monday to call!

Any insight on this?

They probably just need some more time to get the verification stuff out the way. That's what happened when I apped for the Everyday card right after getting approved for my charge card. Just call them on Monday and see if they want anything else from you.

Okay will do.. So odd I was approved over the phone but its in progress now.

It's still an approval if she said approved it's a done thing.. they sometimes need a little time for the decision on the credit limit.

Don't worry. Supposedly got approved the same day and the rep even told me my credit limit but was surprised too that it still said in process online. Called them on Monday morning and they still came back with an approval and the same limit that the rep told me.

Thanks, I couldn't get a limit but that didnt worry me because when I applied online for the delta I had to call for my limit which the CSR said on the phone.

I guess their system saw my very recent approval and seen I was also qualified for the BCE.

Odd, but thats cool. Makes sense since the hard pull is very recent. But also interesting that their system tells them that ahead of time.

Same thing happened to me when I applied for my PRG after I was approved for ED. They said something about for security reasons if you're not doing it at exactly the same time, you have to wait a couple of days between apps so it goes to pending in the mean time.

I called for a phone application and asked and I guess their system was down for a while so might be behind. Anyways have any of you heard of them reeling you you're eligible for another card with a credit inquiry
