Amex - Pre-approvals with Security Freezes

I was approved for my first Amex, a BCE last week. I've read a lot about Amex pre-qualification for existing cardholders. As a matter of course, I keep my reports frozen except for temporary lifts when I intend to apply for new credit.

I understand it will be a while before they would appear for me, but when that time comes will my reports being frozen prevent Amex from offering me pre-approvals as an existing cardholder or are they able to anyways because of the existing relationship?

I got approved for the green card few days after I froze my files. Granted the pre-approval was done using a SP before I froze my files.

They're still able to pull your credit for SPs to offer preapprovals.

@crednub My files are frozen and I’m still able to see pre-approved offers. Now I haven’t app’d with my file frozen as Amex doesn’t have anything I want at the moment, or I should say nothing with a high enough offer for me to bite.

So yes, you can still see pre-approvals with your file in ice. And congrats on your first card with them!

With Amex,  I have app’d, been approved for new cards, and received CLIs for existing cards with my file frozen.
