You're right about that, I know from first hand experience about the Blue because I was approved for the Blue Cash 3/11 and the very next month AmEx came out with the BCP and I apped for it, and my app was cancelled, I called and was told by 2 different New Account Managers that because I was approved for the Blue Cash 3/11 that I would have to wait till 6/11 to app for the BCP, but I was free to app for any other type of AmEx product.
I guess maybe I assumed the same was true with their Charge Cards as well.

no harm no foul,, same happened to me,, but i app for wrong card,, i wanted BCP and so many damn blue cards i hit the BLUE now im stuck till next year
I got the platinum and the zync within the same week. I was lucky since it was 1 inq for both.
