Amex Zync Application Question, Update: APPROVED NPSL!!!

I applied for the AMEX Zync on 2/4/12, and they pulled Experian.  Under Application status it says In Progress: "Home Address Verification"   which is probably because I just moved and I haven't updated my address with all of my accounts yet. So, I called the number listed and the guy indicated that I would be receiving a letter within the next 2-3 days that I would need to reply to. My question is, what are my chances of actually getting the card?  At this time, I only have one other CC, and 3 retail cards, which is a Discover More, 4200 Limit.   My EX FAKO is 727.  I have some old baddies, around 2006-2007 when I went through a divorce. Worst ones are 90 day late on a wells fargo CC in 2006, and a paid judgement from my ex husbands truck.   wondering what the chances of getting approval are?   I don't have a thin file, and I have a very good re-established credit history.  I'm 30 yrs old, and a young professional... looking to use the zync charge card to help manage cash flow in and out of my bank account.

Oldest Account: 12 yrs 5 months

AAoA: 6 yrs

Most Recent Late Payment: 5 yrs 7 months ago

Util %:  11%

Income: 93k per year salary

24k per year rental income.

Update: I was called by AMEX CSR and she needed to verify that I had indeed applied for the card. She Verified my address, SS# and Phone Number and then told me that she was able to approve my application for the American Express Zync Card, with No Pre Set Spend Limit, Charge account.  Super Excited!!

I just have one more app out, I had applied for the Chase Amazon.com Visa, which was denied for too many inquiries, but this has been re-conned, since all of the inquiries were related to mortgage application process and subsequent approval for the mortgage. I had to provide them a current utility bill and copy of SS card via fax.

I think you are approved - they just need to verify your address as you mentioned.   Might have to send utility bills or something similar.....

Re: Amex Zync Application Question

I missed the part where you called already. When I had to be verified they told me a different story with each rep. All of them agreed on one thing though and that was my app was in a special dept. Finally, after 3 days, I get a call from a supervisor who asks a few questions and says im approved.

Re: Amex Zync Application Question

Thanks for the replies Smiley Happy   I'm really hoping that I'm approved.  I would like to have 1 revolver and 1 charge account, and then go into gardening mode for 2 yrs and lay low, possibly do a consumer freeze on all my reports. Would love to get in good with the AMEX people, as this type of account would be good to use for re-imbursed work expenses.

Re: Amex Zync Application Question

It's an approval most likely.  But, before they do, they need to conduct an "identity review."

You have the option to send in documents, such as DL, SS card, Lease or Utility Bill, Bank account, and something notarized that says you're, well you.  Or, you could call them up, and they'll do a conference call with your bank to verify your ID.  However, it has to be a major banks, such as Wells, BofA, Chase, Citi, etc....

The conference call is inifnitely easier.

Re: Amex Zync Application Question

Doesn't have to be a national bank. I have Digital Federal Credit Union for my checking accounts and as long as I could provide them a phone number they could match up with some internal amex system, they were fine calling them.

Re: Amex Zync Application Question

Think of it this way. Would a bank go through all this trouble just to deny you? They have many other things to do during the day. If you were denied, they usually tell you immediately. I say you got it.
