Hello! I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me. My fiancé and I have agreed to have our wedding at a Hilton and I want to take full advantage of the 12x points that the surpass card offers. So, I got this bright idea of apping for the Hilton surpass, reallocating my limit from my BCE, then closing it. Now, I was supposed to do this a few weeks ago, but decided that I would wait until my credit scores updated.
Well, I received an email from Amex today, telling me that they increased my limit. I checked my account, and sure enough, the CLI was listed. So, now I'm not sure if...
1) I'll even get approved for the Hilton surpass because I've been reading on here that you are only allowed a certain CL across all of your accounts, and since I already have the EVP, I'm worried that I might have hit my cap.
And
2) if I do get approved for the surpass, will Amex still let me reallocate the CL or is there some sort of waiting period?

If you don't mind sharing, what is your current limit? How much Amex sets your internal limit at is based on your income. So you will never know until you apply for a new card.

The account you want to move the limit from has to be at least 13 months old for that to happen.
