Hey All,
I was recently approved for the Blue cash everyday card and was looking for more info on the 1% category. There's no detailed description or list of what "eligible purchases" includes. I called Amex customer service and they said it was a long list(mentioning netflix and insurance) and emailed me two links that was supposed to have more info but they dont. Anyone have more of an idea on what this category includes?
It should include pretty much everything but "cash equivalent" purchases such as gift cards (if the merchant supplies level 3 transaction data and they see gift card purchases), PayPal payments, and other things like that. I'm sure there are others but those come to mind most prominently.

Right, here "eligible purchases" isn't a new category, the card rewards (only) eligible purchases, some at 3%, some at 2% and the rest at 1%. Eligible means, wait for it, anything that isn't ineligible, which is mostly cash-equivalent purchases that they detect as such, purchases that get returned etc. So almost everything "normal" will get you 1% on the card (and, in many cases, cash equivalent purchases will also work, but not really worth taking the chance for 1%!)
Cool, thanks for the info!
