Just some sound advise for all rebuilders if you were approved for a Zync card you are eligible for any amex charge card whether it is zync or platinum.
...and if u apply o n the same day that u are approved for zync its a soft inquiry however the next day it will be another hard inquiry...
now the reason im putting this is because alot of peope lke on this board seem to think it is easier to get a zync card which is total fiction.
amex marketed the zync card to people under 30 (hence the basic $25 annual fee) not people rebuilding their credit.
so if u got a zync and really wanted a green, gold or platinum you need to just apply for the card and you will get it.
now if you call customer service it is true u can not upgrade until 6-12 month but u can apply anytime...
look at the cards on different tier levels because or the reward programs (zync having the lowest level rewards and platinum having the highest)...not the qualification for approval.
i hope this helps..now getting in bed with one of their credit cards might have different requirements...but i wouldnt know because i have no experience with them
The DW has a zync had a zync for 3 months and apped for a gold. Denied. So I dont think thats the case all the time. The reasons were score to low, and not long enough relationship with amex. I apped for green and then got zync and was approved.
Lately ive been looking at the Starwood and Hilton Amex cards. Once I get my score higher i'm going to try for one of those.

We if your dw would have applied for the gold on the same day that her Zync was approved the gold would have been approved as well but like u stated your dw waited 3 months to apply so in that time alot of things could have changed that effected her decline.

Only thing that changed was her util went down. There was no other changes except amex reporting and 3 months going by.
hey like i said things do change over a 3month span but we'll never know about dw's situation unless she had applied for a gold the same day and was declined right after being approved for a zync

I don't think Amex Zync Card is for certain age because I asked on the phone. They told me you would get approved if you qualify for the card. I got approved for the card and I'm not 20s.

App 2 amex charge cards in one day? ![]()
Could be wrong but sounds like it may lead to unintended consequences.
well there are plenty of instances where people have done this and have had more than favorable results
such as myself
