i applied for this a few days ago and just got an email saying I've been approved and card should be in mail. I logged onto my Amex account and added the new card to my existing account. After I added and checked it out it says "no pre set spending limit" does that mean I can charge whatever I want on it and just pay it full the following month. Also what's the benefit of the green card??
Yes, this is a charge card. Means you have to pay your balance in full each month.
Benefits are 1/1 points on all purchases.
annual fee is 95.

Does that mean I can charge any amount on card as I want. Currently I have 30k limit between 2 other cards with amex
Not related to your question, but I do not understand the green card and why they still offer it. The MRs are 1 point per dollar and it has an annual fee?! I just do not see the logic since they started offering revolvers with no AF and better rewards.
You can charge any amount, but a large amount may make you call in to confirm since you are just starting out. For example, if your income in $40,000 and you try to make a purchase for $5,000+ right away you may have to call. It varies.

I got it just cause I see so many post about it. I don't even know what's the reward for it. I do know that the annual fee is waived for first year. After first year it's 95/year
No you can not charge whatever amount you want
Amex system may allow you to charge 2k today and 1k tomorrow then the next day deny all charges until bill is paid
You have an internal limit that is constantly changing
Now here's the tough question: Why would you get a card that you know nothing about? (Rewards/how it works)
We see far to much of this and with a $95 AF I don't get it
But hey maybe its just me as to why anyone would ask how the card works after applying ...IDK Lol

I don't even know the reward for my other 2 cards with Amex. I applied for other 2 cause I don't have Amex and they were doing the sign on bonus and it's 10% back using to pay phone bill so why not?? Also the green card is a charge card. I probably won't use it much. The 95 annual fee is waived for first year so if I don't like I can just cancel it before first year

No bonus for green and if it was its usually 5k you would have been better off with PRG 50k offer with AF waived 1st year and a better reward system
Now if you wanted to test drive a card that would have been a better choice since after the $100 air credit it ='s $95 AF same as green but a better value
The bonus along is worth $500+
Just my 2 cents tho![]()

The PRG (premier reward gold?) is more of a flyer rewards right? I hardly ever fly or travel. I like cash back cards and most cards I carry is cash back. Now I just need to be able to get a discover. Discover doesn't like me and won't give me a card

Both are flyer/travel cards( green/PRG)
If you just wanted to cash in the PRG bonus its worth $500 cash back (50K)
Far more if transferred to FF program but
The green if you got the bonus which I doubt because it's rare for Amex to offer it is worth $50 cash back (5k)
Not coming down on your decision but this is why you do the research before applying ....a learning curve that's all
Discover will come around at some point but don't rack up HP's on useless cards in the mean time cuz that won't help when there's a card you do want
