No, I don't need (or want) a 'pink' card or a 'green' card for my collection (although their designs are not completely horrible) 😂, I selected them just to play around. So, if someone is doing a prequalification, and since the card will have the same benefits (from what I can tell), what would trigger getting the $75 AF vs the $39 AF? -- I'm assuming it's profile-specific since it mentioned "because you're not eligible for the original terms", but I wasn't aware there was a higher priced Credit One AmEx version 🤔
I'm obviously not their target demographic, but I always like to test different products just for s&g's. And, contrary to some individuals who may get these offers by accident, I'm not one to feel insulted or clutch my pearls by what lands in my mailbox (or inbox) 😁 -- they're just fun to test things.

At least you pre-qualified. @K-in-Boston has been after that credit one nascar for years. He used to rant in garden thread like "some individuals".

😂 To be clear, I never wanted the card. I just wanted to not have "Poor Approval Odds" according to Credit Karma.

This is a judgement free zone.

There was a time when I did not even pre-qualify for these guys, and I dunno what changed but now after doing that, they send me reminder emails "come back, finish your application" or "we have another offer for you" and they present me with the Credit One Visa. I suppose if I could get the pink or green one with no AF and even a CL around $5K (give or take), I'll take it out for a spin! Just not worth the AF (for me). But, that would be my version of Gucci! 😂
Then again, I thought the other partner ones were cool as well, like the NASCAR one, Las Vegas Raiders/Vegas Golden Knights and WWE Champion versions.
But, something about their elusive no-AF AmEx one is interesting. Yes, I would use it to pay for cow!
Well they downright confuse the hell out of me. I actually had a CO with them years ago and then sent them a gw( they removed from my report.
i have the platinum that I was approved for during my rebuild after crashing down to 400's after losing everything (a really bad break in/theft that destroyed my income with my at home business and the house I was renting with my kids, which we were then forced out of. Such an awful time) anyway, they approved me for a $1000 cl with platinum. I've had it 3? Years now. They just offered me a stupid $150 CLI for $19.95, lol. And they also said I'm preapproved for their Amex. I clicked it for giggles to see the offer and it says $800 CL and $39 af. The thing is, my scores are only in the 500's right now. My Experian is 581, equifax just hit 606 and transunion I dunno, I have ti check. I was also just approved for a cap1 Walmart rewards for $2000 cl. So confused really. I did just pay off my four credit cards to $0 within the last couple weeks but my scores and reports have not updated yet- add to being more perplexed by this stuff lol. I haven't accepted the amex-
@jata_roots You are better off with the CapOne Walmart card. Credit One AMEX is not worth having, honestly. I am keeping mine just for the account ageing to keep my scores in place. Hubby has the CapOne Walmart card and it is much better. I pay the bills so I see the account all of the time. To raise your scores, you need to get in the habit of paying for things with your credit card (including your utility bills) and pay the bills 3 days BEFORE the credit card STATEMENT END DATE in FULL. This way they will report your usage AND the $0 balance. Do this and watch your scores go up every month. Pay with a debit card only when you absolutely have to (like Winco grocery stores only take debit no credit cards). But only use on what you can afford, obviously.
Wishing you the best!

Why on earth would a company try to promote a competitor's product?!

Why not @BijouMan? They (Credit One and American Express National Bank) have a cooperation agreement. It's business, provides a shared revenue stream for both and it works. Also, Credit One is a member bank, meaning, they can issue any cards on any network if they choose to (V/MC/D/AX). So, I wouldn't be suprised if a Credit One Discover may be launched in the future depending on how their contract with AENB pans out.

But it's like Amex saying "How about you go with this other company's product instead of our own?"
@BijouMan Let me help you understand: It is like let's say Dallas Cowboys merchandise. You can buy it directly at the stadium or their website. But...you can also go to any NFL shop, a Texas grocery store, Target etc and get their merchandise. No matter where you buy, the Cowboys are getting paid their profits. Make sense?
Hope that helps.
