Today I made my first transaction on Amex Platinum in a foreign currency. I got an email from Amex notifying me that they had approved a foreign transaction (as I had instructed them in the alerts I set a while ago).
However, the transaction does not appear in the list of my pending (or posted, for that matter) transactions, and the email only mentioned the foreign currency amount, and not the USD amount.
Is this just a generic case of transactions disappearing and reappearing (as I've seen on other Amex cards) or does Amex have a delayed or complicated process of determining currency conversion rates? When I used Chase and Citi cards, the currency conversions were very fast and my accounts showed the USD amounts very quickly.

Amex never shows foreign charges as pending. It will show up when it posts. If you want to see the dollar charge then add the card to Apple Pay or Samsung Pay and it will show that stuff.
Thanks!
