I just called up to cancel my Amex PRG, I wasn't seeking a retention offer, I had even intention of actually cancelling the card. I've had it since 2013 and I got the personal Platinum this year, so many of the benefits are replicated (apart from the points earning, but I don't use the PRG for that anyway).
They offered me a $75 credit to keep the card open. I decided to accept. Between that, and the next $100 airline credit I'll receive in Jan, it'll bring my net cost down to $20. Worth it for me, for a card I've got a soft spot for. Plus I will be closing the personal Plat once the year's up, and getting the business Plat, so I can write-off the AF against my business taxes, so it'll be nice to retain a personal charge card.

good timing, the prg has been on my mind - short on coffee but don't you make $ 25 on this if the credit is $ 100 + I have not used mine yet, what is the most near cash way to use it? what # did you call? thx
