Amex question

So if I were to be added as an authorized user would it report the date I was added or the date the account was opened? Then, after it reports and I were to get one of my own would it back date my account to the same date as the card I was an AU on?

Re: Amex question

I was going to have my parents add me as an AU so I could gain some AAOA. Since it wouldn't make and age difference I may as well just get apply for my own since it will count as new either way. So much for attempting to manipulate the system.

If they do add you this year and you are denied, it at least sets your member year to 2013, so if you end up getting your first card in 2014, it will be back dated to 2013.
