Amex question

I was approved for a BCP the other day.  Cannot wait til it shows up!

My question is...I have had Amex cards in the past.  One opened in 2007 that still shows on my reports, but now closed.  It's a positive TL. And I had a Amex way back in the 90s, closed long ago.

I was worried about lowering  my AAoA.  Totally worth it for a BCP card, though!

I saw that someone else had gotten back in with Amex and Amex changed the reported open date to the original mamebership date of their first account.

Is that common for Amex?  Anyone have that experience?

That would be so awesome!

Re: Amex question

Amex used to do that as standard practice, any new account would be reported to the bureaus as the backdated open. As of about a year ago, give or take, they stopped doing that.
Your card may say "Member Since 19xx" or whatever, but the credit report will show up as 2016.

Congrats on the approval!
