I have two Amex cards with upgrade offers to the Plat. Last month on my gold card I paid the AF. I also have a green card which was a downgrade from the Plat back in Nov. I think I want to upgrade my gold card to plat and fish for an upgrade from green to gold in the future.
My question is as follows: If I take the upgrade from gold to plat how will it work with the AF? Will it just be the pro-rata of the 11 months minus the AF already paid? In addition, I know you have to keep your card a set amount of time to prevent clawback of the bonus. When is the AF for the renewal going to hit? 12 months from when I do upgrade or will the AF renewal date stay the same as it currently is on the gold card that is being upgraded?
