The regular Blue card is MR based.
My comment was based on this: " So I want to app for the AMEX Everyday, I want another high limit to pad my portfolio. I also want a card with membership rewards so I can transfer my Green points over, as I will close this card out before the AF hits"... hence why I suggested a MR based card? Not the best for MR since I guess that might be the new Everyday preferred?
But a big difference is that the Blue is MRE-based, not MR. If you don't have an MR card (such as if you cancelled a charge card) the MRE points can no longer be transferred. Once you get a new MR card, they all become MR points, so people used to use the Blue to "store" points in between MR cards. With the Everyday, you no longer have to do that, a free card with full MR.
