Anyone seen any news on whether Walmart is going to come out with a new credit card?
I just find it weird that Walmart hasn't come out with any news about if they are going to offer a new credit card. You would think they would have another in the pipeline. If they do, are they going to make current card holders apply for it?
I don't think I'm going to apply for it, if I have to. I don't need another c.c..

Nope no news on a new Walmart card. My notice from Cap1 said Oct. 30 is the last day I can use my Walmart store card, Oct. 31 is when the card changes to a Quicksilver, so I have it in my e-calender to call & close the card. I have a QS card and sure as heck don't want another. I use my Walmart card most for curbside pickup at it gets 5% cashback.
I also don't think I'll apply for a new Walmart card unless it's a really sweet deal. My backup is my PayPal 2% Cashback, which is now only 1.5% cashback thanks to cheapass Synchrony. but it gets 3% cashback through Paypal purchases and Walmart takes PayPal. Also my Amex BCE should get 3% as an online purchase for curbside pickup, it codes as a Walmart.com purchase.
Why don't you transfer the credit limit over your QS? Or upgrade to a Savior one?
I don't know about anyone else, but Walmart has been spamming my email with offers for the One debit card. This is the latest offer:
Limited time offer: earn 10% cash back when you spend up to $200 on your first Walmart purchase within the first month of sign-up. Plus, 3% cash back on all future Walmart purchases, up to $50 a year.
@DaveInAZInstead of closing right away, it may make more sense to see if you CL from it to your existing QS or another Capital One card (if you have another) once it's been converted . If Capital One will allow that account to move limits you'll only have to leave $500 on the QS (they won't let people moving limits drop below that on the donor card). I'd do that and then close it another statement or two later.
I find Capital One's CC's inferior (other Banks are better) for my needs other than to churn. Thus I closed my Walmart CC in advance. I already have a superior option than the current Walmart CC.
5% back for walmart.com purchases and 2% back for in-store is decent for Walmart. (We get free delivery thru Walmart +.)
Did you really churn this specific card as I am unaware of a SUB?
What is the superior card for C1 Walmart?

discounted gift cards online using BofA CRC preferred, bill pay CB debit, same savings online or in store.
I've actually been getting 10% at wm.com for many months now using the Cap One 5% shopping offer stacked with the 5% card. When my 5% WM card is converted to a 1.5% QS (I think mine is slated for early/mid October), and if they still have the 5% shopping offer, I'll get 6.5%. Not shabby, but also not reliable. The shopping offer can end at any time.
wm.com is so h3!! bent on competing with amazon.com, that I can't fathom they won't have a 5% card option available by this fall/winter.
I got this email but I cannot see them going with AMEX due to their high merchant fees....
