Any problem with adding my Discover card to both my Google Wallet and my wife's Apple Pay?

I have a Discover card in my name only. My wife is not set up as an authorized user. I'd like to max out the upcoming "5% on digital wallets" by running as much of our family spending as possible through it.

Will I run into any problems if my Discover card (in my name only) is activated and being used simultaneously on both my Google Pay and my wife's Apple Pay? I'm just wondering if Discover will have any problem with this or if it will set off any fraud prevention.

I looked into the Google Pay Community forums about this. Their responce:

"As long as you use the same Google account credentials that you used on your primary phone."

So 2 different Google accounts may not fly. They have to be signed into the same account. So one Andriod is different than the other.

Two phones with the same Google account is ok.

Why not just make your wife an authorized user?

Well, I don't know OPs reason(s) but in my case it just adds extra stuff to a credit record (which can be good or bad).   Once Samsung Pay came along, my wife and I were able to use many cards that were just in one of our names.    Like giving your partner your physical card, but with that, at least in the old days, they might have been asked to sign.

What's the bad stuff?  The good stuff is your partner's credit will benefit from being an authorized user: their total credit limit will include the authorized card. Wouldn't you want your partner to establish their own stable creditworthiness?

I can't really remember but doesn't Discover send a text to your phone when setting up at least with Google Pay?  It might cause a problem. Disco csr's are so easy to talk to that I'd rather call them and ask them about using your wife's phone/wallet.

In some cases you can add your credit card to both platforms, Apple and Android and in other cases it's prohibited. It depends on the card issuer. If you add it to let's say Apple and then you add it to Google/Samsung it will delete it from Apple and issue you a brand new virtual card number upon registration with the Google/Samsung device.

In the literature I've seen, they break it down as to say only one device is permitted per card on file without exclusively noting device platforms as a work around, just a point blank road block at "one device per card" all together.

The Schell gas card link below gives an example. Your best bet is to call Discover and ask.
