You guys can still make under 5/24 if you stretch only 4 new cards over the next 24 months.  I know that goes without saying, but sometimes I see people thinking they need to garden for 2 years.

I won't try again until my BK is 6 yrs post DC which is Nov 2018

this is great advice. My first car loan was also very high due to credit score.  I only had one credit card and knew nothing about having a credit mix.  I also didnt know that I would have benefited from having multiple cards to have more on time payments being reported. However, after cc denial I just stopped applying and decided to wait until my score grew.
