All of my Amex accounts reported after 2nd statement but I always had a $0 balance. Anyone have experience with Amex not reporting on 1st statement when they had a balance? I would rather focus on paying other accounts if they're not going to report at 1st statement. Thoughts anyone?

Amex doesn’t report until some time after 2nd statement whether you have a balance or not. You’re fine to carry one until they do report
Ok thanks, I'll give it a shot....appreciate the response!

When they do report do they report all previous billing cycles? So the first report has two statements included?
If your first statement has your highest balance, that'll report in the "high balance" field. That won't affect your score, though, once the card finally reports. Figuring that AMEX probably wouldn't report, I purposely let my initial statement cut with a balance that was somewhat higher than the balance that I'd normally allow to report.
Note that with AMEX, the the high balance is equal to one's highest statement balance. With some cards, the high balance will be one's highest balance ever, which could occur mid-cycle.
First report will show an on time payment already made for the previous month (assuming it is).
Usually, it should be on the 2nd. The advantage is that the AoYA would not drop to 0 (it can result ~15 Fico8 drop). If AoYA becomes 1m or more, there should be no Fico8 score drop (assuming no year-tier change in AAoA.)
Trust me, I'm happy they wait until the 2nd statement to report....I can use that to counteract the fact that Barclays already reported a new account and I haven't even received the card yet....just approved last Tuesday
Lol, hope that the card would arrive before the 2nd statement
That's funny....Yeah, and hopefully with a $0 balance.
