Does it work properly each month? With my cellphone bill I've had autopay not work sometimes so I'm curious about amex autopay for paying the amex bill?
My wife and me have used it for years on 8 cards. Never had an issue.
I have it setup on my two cards and never an issue in the past 3 years.
Same here - never had any issues with AMEX autopay.
Never any issues with AMEX autopay. It requires you to specify how many days after the statement that you want the pay date to be, so you have to work at it if you want to get closer to the payment due date. But I don't think it offers "pay exactly on due date". So if for some reason autopay doesn't work, you've still got a few days to get a payment in. But as with all banks, if you set up autopay and there's a failure on the bank actions, they take the steps to correct it.
You can also add "text me when a payment is made" to get confirmation from AMEX. Most banks offer this texting now.
Never used autopay with any of my banks. I'm always making multiple manual payments anyway.

Just set it up. Sounds like it works well

I typically do as well, but for credit cards I have autopay set up to do a minimum payment after an unfortunate issue with my Target Redcard (which, come to think of it, might explain the lack of love on the part of Target ha ha). I think of it as insurance and just pay the bills as usual.
I have used autopay on Amex ever since I had them, with zero issues. I use the 25 day after statement closing date option, which is on the due date. I have also used autopay on everything possible for the last 20+ years, with never once the slightest glitch. This includes credit cards, mortgage, auto loans, utilities, insurance, cell phone bills, and probably more that I'm not thinking of right now.

It doesn't specifically say "pay exactly on due date", but for Amex the due date is always 25 days after the statement closing date. Amex gives you the option of the payment processing 15 to 25 days after the statement closing date. If you choose 25 days, it is the due date.
