Thank you for your message. We have conducted a second review of your application. However, after careful consideration, we have determined that we must stand behind our original decision. Your application was declined due to your recently discharged bankruptcy. We are unable to extend any unsecured credit at this time. Although we cannot currently establish an unsecured credit card in your name, you may be eligible to participate in our nRewards Secured credit card program. Under this program, you may be issued a credit card that is secured by funds in your savings account. These funds will continue to earn dividends while on hold. The minimum credit limit for our nRewards Secured card is $500.00. Please note that the $5.00 hold that applies to your Membership Savings Account cannot be applied to your secured credit card hold. If you are interested in obtaining a secured credit card or would like additional information, please contact us at 1-888-842-6328. We ask that you please do not reply to this application message. If you have further inquiries, you may send an online message using your Navy Federal Online Account Access service. On the Other Services tab, click on E-Message to Navy Federal under the Contact Us option.
Unreal
Well, to be fair 7 months post BK is probably not enough time to make you tolerable risk for NFCU. Also, what type of BK are we talking? CH. 7 or CH. 13? This likely could have affected their decision as well. Getting back into the credit game is going to take a little more time than that. Either way, I wish you luck!
Sounds about right. I was 16 months post discharge. Got Checking, Savings, approved for cashRewards, declined for CLOC. 4 PULLS! I'm happy I got the accounts though. CLOC was just gravy. I'll probably use them for a mortgage this summer.
I'd go for the Secured nRewards card if you have $500 available. It will be fipped to unsecured before you know it.
I have a DISMISSED BK (yes voluntary, but still) and they are my highest credit limit. Very grateful to NavyFed and Penfed.
Yeah i did the same almost denied for everything which is ok as i recently opened a ton of store cards so that makes since, I have an appointment today for a walk through of the bank products and hope to discuss bettering my credit with them.
