I only have BCE, which was cli'ed today to $24,500 from $10,500.
I really wanted to get a new Amex, and the Delta Gold looks very promising with the sign up bonus and other reward potential.
Does apping for a new Amex after a big cli increase my chance of FR or send up a red flag?
I haven't opened any new accounts since February. I have about 10% util, 700+ FICO, 149k income. aaoa about 3 years.
So should I app Delta Gold or no? I don't want any aa or FR.
Really just wanting the 30,000 mile sign up bonus! and a chance to further build my relationship with Amex.
What do you guy think?
Also, is the Jetblue better than the Delta Gold?
It depends on who you fly with. Delta miles are some of the most undervalued in the industry, but if you live near a hub and frequently fly with them, it might be worth it. I don't know if applying for a new card right after a huge CLI will cause a FR, but why take the chance? Personally, I would hold off on applying right away if you don't need the card now.
I did the reverse about 2 weeks ago, AP'd for AMEX Hilton HHonors Surpass, approved 5,500, later that day I asked for a CLI to 7500 on a card with 2700 CL, approved. I'm laying low and will be doing my best to PIF as much as possible for 6 months, I had 2x AMEX cards previously BCP and Unicorn/Zync... Both PIF for the last 6 month.

I had no problem doing this last week.. Received my 61 day CLI on my Delta Skymiles and then app'd for the TrueEarnings the next day and was approved for that.. Then, a few days later they sent me an "invite to apply" for the GPR and so I apped for that and got approved.. Good Luck to ya..
I'd say 2nd card no issue but besides the bonus and free checked backs if you don't fly them more than 2 a year I would skip it.
