Has anyone been guilty of applying for a card you want and then applying for an Amex to negate the hit on your AAoA?
I was thinking of grabbing the CSP and then getting the Amex Everyday/True Earnings to backdate.. thoughts?

The thing i would also consider other than AAOA is can your credit report take two hps from ex.
Good point, I have very few hp's and am not planning anything major in the next 2 years in terms of credit requirements.

Another thing to consider if you are thinking of an amex MR card , i would think about getting something with an better bonus like an prg maybe .
For sure, my main concern was avoiding another annual fee (unless it is for Costco membership).

PRG AF is waived for first year. I probably would get that for signup bonus than after the 1 year close it and app for ED . If my HP situation isn't in bad shape I think thats what i will end up doing.
If you want to take advantage of the backdate for the AAOA, then app for two cards 1 pull, with Amex.Get the PRG and a credit card. Worked for me.Then b4 the Anual fee hits, you can close out the card if you want. I was able to get back dated to 1994 and thats what I did. YMMV
