I did the pre approval app for Apple Card and was denied. I'm in rebuild and currently at a 694 FICO 8.
Have a Discover for $9k, Capital One for $500 and Credit One for $600. And was recently added as an AU on a BOA card with $25k and $1500 balance.
Is Apple really that hard to get approved for? Where do I need to be to get approved?
You can apply from the wallet app on your I phone.
I don't think this helps your situation but last summer I used the pre-approval for the Apple card and was denied with a 745 TU. The letter specifically stated my BK7 as the reason. "Derogatory public record" or something very close to that. 3 months later the BK7 fell off my TU and I was pre-approved $1500 @Anonymous.99%. How does your profile look? Any derogs?
Try the shopping cart trick it worked for me, I was approved for 1250 with a 695 TU.

It did say I had a recent charge off and repossession. It's been almost 7 years ago though. Wouldn't really call that recent. But very well could be the reason. I'm getting pre-approvals for Chase and Amex cards though. Maybe Apple is just that picky.

Shopping cart trick? Guess I'm not familiar with that
You can go to the apple store online and add some items to your cart and before checking out, the system should ask if you want an Apple Card to pay for the purchase and you may get approved that way.
You don't actually have to make a purchase to be approved though

Oh ok gotcha. May try that then. Thank you.

It's hit and miss with them. I've seen people with 5 year old BKs get denied because of the BK and I've seen people approved 3 months after discharge. Not sure what else they're looking at to swing one way or the other.
What's your TU 9 score? That's what they're looking at. I've applied multiple times while being denied. My CO from 2019 was listed as a reason for denial. Once I opened my 3rd CC and opened a SSL and my TU9 got to 660+ I was approved but only for $1K. I declined the offer.
