I was talking to Barclay's today to add an offer so that I can buy a Mac and they told me that my Apple Card would be going over to Goldmans Sacks in the near future and did not have a time line on the change. This is the second time a rep told be about the Apple card but the last rep said the card would be changed over to a plan Barclay's card without Apple offers on it but the credit line would stay with Barclay's. Has anyone heard or gotten anything in the post about this?

So essentially anybody that has the Barclays Apple Rewards card will get transitioned to an Apple Card? It seems like something that would work, but I definitely imagine there would be problems. I feel like something like this is a rare thing.

I would take the agent's conversation with a grain of salt as there did not appear to be any purchase agreement by GS to acquire any existing Barclays cardholder accounts.
If such had been the case, you and other cardholders would've received some form of communication addressing that change. If you ever receive any future notification that indicates otherwise, definitely post it here.

The rep was from the manger department, I was surprised that she even said that as i'm sure I would have gotten something in the post by now if that was going to happen.

But, as we have seen on the forums time after time, sometimes even supervisors or managers may not be well-informed. And, if such a transition were to have materialized, you'd see more forum members who currently hold the Barclays Apple CC sharing similar experiences, which hasn't happened so far. If it ever happens with your account, re-post again any such developments.
Most likely inaccurate information from the CS rep. WSJ or any similar publication would have already reported such acquisition. That's such a high profile portfolio not to be reported so no I highly doubt that.

Very true reps I don't think that they know what they are doing half of the time.
This appears to be accurate. I got an Apple Card at the beginning of this month and the bank is Goldman Sachs. I was surprised to see Barclay's mentioned in the header of this thread. I'm attaching an image of the PDF of my first statement (with my name redacted).

2 different products.
Apple transitioned from co-branding with BarclaycardUS over to Goldman Sachs as the card issuer about 16 months ago. The cards issued by BarclaycardUS are still active but there hasn't been any public communication regarding future plans; unknown if GS will acquire the portfolio, the cards will continue to be supported as Apple cards or transitioned to a different Barclay offering, or if the accounts will be closed.
Reading this thread caught my interest as I have the card as well.
What really got my interest was the fact that the Barclays card is no longer offered either by Barclays or as a financing option on Apple.com.
I bought an iPad Pro in September, and Barclays was still on option on Apple.com at the time.
Wonder if the OP might be correct.
As a weird side note - Barclays (at least in the US) offers no "normal" credit cards? Every single one is co-branded.
