Apple Card slow to CLI?

When I first opened my Apple Card, I received a SL of $3000, and have diligently requested CLI as soon as I was eligible. At each one of those intervals, I received only $500. So now, years later, I have a $5500 limit, curious if something about my profile is holding me back from larger increases. Is there something the bank wants to see that they're not seeing?

EQ 835 - 3 INQ

EX 828 - 8 INQ

Re: Apple Card slow to CLI?

Apparently one needs to put a significant amount of spend on this relatively useless, middle of the road cash  back card before they'll consider you for a decent credit limit.

My wife still has one stuck at $9k that she added me to a couple years ago. fwiw my next lowest CL is $35k on a Chase Amazon card so the Apple Card annoys me.

Needless to say, we won't be diverting spend to the Apple Card unless they significantly up the rewards when Chase takes over.

Current active cards:
Amex - Platinum, BCP
BofA - Unlimited Cash Rewards Sig
Chase - CSR, Amazon Prime, United Explorer
Citi - Custom Cash, Costco Visa
TCL - $370k
CC utili - 2%
Experian - 818

Re: Apple Card slow to CLI?

Based on replies thus far, I will make it my primary card for purchases and see where that gets me. I am not giving an ultimatum where I would cancel it over a low CL, because their dispute resolution is unmatched. I have never been asked to provide additional documentation when investigating a charge. (One was a service that continued to bill after cancellation, the other was product/service not as described)

Account is showing 5y 1m old, and spend has just been a few recurring items until this year, so, I could definitely ramp up spend.

What are you hoping to accomplish with more CL?

BofA: Citi:US Bank:Chase:Aven:RH:

Spend: Less than 10k per year organic (frugal). MS varies, can be more significant.

The ability to actually use the card as my daily and have my monthly spend not spike UTIL for that particular line. Sure, I could make multiple payments, or PIF before a statement cuts, but just not looking to keep doing that.

All of the articles I can find seem to imply that nothing is final, but have you heard it's basically a done deal that it will be Chase? They're very generous with their limits. Fingers crossed they are better with CLI, lol.

Re: Apple Card slow to CLI?

I find the Apple Card a bit cryptic. I opened a card this week and received a $40k SL.  My FICO is about 828 with an AAoA about 15 years 6 mo and oldest AMEX cards reporting 39 years.  I don't know if it was because I have some cards reporting very high lifetime balances such as an AMEX platinum reporting $73k high balance which I paid off in 30 days when I used it for tax payments.  Unless I charge obscenely high amounts, I doubt the Apple card would give me a CLI anytime soon.  Wells gave me a $15k SL on a Journey card last month so I never guessed Goldman would offer such a high starting line when I tested the waters.  If they had offered a $15k or $20k starting limit, I never would have taken a hard inquiry and opened the account.my total credit utilization on all credit cards is about 1 percent.
