Apple Card - struggling with CLI

I got this card in 2/2022 with a meager $950 limit that I have consistently used and paid-off. Sometimes I've carried a small balance.

I've tried a number of times for a CLI and the reasoning is all the same - " You have been recently past due".

I have no idea what they're looking at since my last real late was in 2020 (30d late, totally my fault).

I like using it because it's convienent and I know it's not the end all be all or the cat's meow.

Thoughts/suggestions?

@madmann26

It's my understanding that you will get the "recently past due" response from GS if there is ANY derog on your report.

I have been continuously denied for the card with the same reason... and my last late was in 2016.  I did get into the Path to Apple Card program though with a June completion... which is right about the same time TU will drop my last Ch 13 related derogs from 2017.

With any luck I'll get approved at that time.

OP,

For now, it's best to focus on using your GS card and making sure to pay on time. You may want to consider setting up automatic payments to help with this. As you continue to use your card responsibly, your credit limit may increase automatically.

Yeah, they have recently changed CLI criteria due to the market. I wouldn't sweat it. I got my card a month after you with $1,200 SL.... no soup for me either.

It appears to be the case.

I actually had my girl tell me today that she wants an iPad... so I might just have to try the SCT and see.

Re: Apple Card - struggling with CLI

Like any card heavy use and paying more than the minimum will get you a CLI. They forever denied my cli requests due to my BK. I then made it my everyday spending card started putting my daily sbux coffee purchase on it and every little thing. Went to 5k. Now my issue with it is little use and a lot of previous inquiries on my reports so I just threw a mac mini on it so Ill try again soon. If you want the CLI though make it your daily spend card.

Oh it gets used. 2-3k per month. I use it, pay it, use it, pay it.
