Applying for Target Store Card? Read this....

Hey Everyone,

I just got the big N-O from Target for their store charge card. However, I was able to convince the CSR to transfer me to an account analyst. She explained that if you have more than 6 hard inquiries (I had 8) in the past 90 days you will almost always get denied, regardless of FICO score. Apparently it's some limit with TD Bank, so I'll test this theory and reapply once I get below this threshold and update this thread.

Sounds good, please keep us updated! Even though doing that may get you a low CLI. Gardening 6 months to a year may get you better results. Thanks for sharing.

Are they still pulling EQ now that it's gone over to TD?

TD usually likes EX.

Sorry about your denial, but at least they gave you some valuable info.

I'm really on the fence about going for this CC when I make my garden escape in the spring. I do shop and Target and like the discount, but I don't like the low CLs handed out and having a card that can't really grow with you.

Target pulled EQ for me and that was 2 weeks ago.

It's unfortunate that they no longer offer the Target Visa. I'm glad I kept mine while it was available!
