Applying for a credit card and NavCheck with Navy. One pull or two

Hi All,

Im wondering if you apply for a credit card and a NavCheck is it one or two pulls. Also, is it better to apply at a branch or does it make any difference.

Thanks!

Two pulls. NFCU does not combine. And if you have to recon, you may even get another HP.

ksb1 is correct.

Navy does a HP for every new thing you apply for, so expect 2 HP's.

2-EQ, 2-TU, or one of each, LOL..They have been pulling a lot more on TU as of late, but 98% favor EQ.

Navy has pulled TU for credit cards and EQ for Nava Check in my experience and I think thats pretty standard from what others have chimed in on. I think thats why a lot of people also dont get both when they apply, I know I have a paid collection on my EQ report that doesnt appear on TU. So I usually have better odds for TU pulls. but if your profile is the same acorss the CRA's, then it shouldnt be a problem.

If you have your EQ on popsicle mode can you nudge NFCU to pull TU for NavCheck like they do for credit cards? From reading, I don't think they will and they'll ask you to unpopsicle EQ to app for NavCheck.

+1

Based on what I've read, there's some flexibility when it comes to which bureau they will pull for a credit card, but generally speaking they insist on EQ for the CLOC.

Note that which bureau NFCU pulls for what product seems to be quite 'fluid' these days, so take other's experiences (including my own) with a grain of salt, since it's very much YMMV.  Smiley Happy

Well this was just my experience but I had the following pulls from Navy: 1 hp on TU for membership, 1 hp on TU for cc, 1 hp on EQ for CLOC but was denied so I asked for a recon and they did 1 more hp on TU. So at the end of it all I had 3 hp on TU and 1 on EQ. It sucked to have that extra hp on TU but in the end I got what I wanted so it was worth it.

My experience- I applied online. There was the pull for the initial opening of an account with them. Then I had 2 other pulls fo the CC and NAV Check but 1 went away. So in total I had 2 pulls from them. But I have a checking/savings, CC and Navcheck. I did it all onliine. I've read that they may ask for certain information to be faxed over but I wasn't asked for anything. I got it thru my brother who was in the Navy. I also just got my husband a checking and savings with them. Did it online and they didn't ask for anything to be faxed over.
