Who is spreading bad rumors of not backdating to when you first held AMEX as AU or Not. OP, you are eligible for backdate to when you first had an AMEX. The smart thing would have been to create online profile for your AU card. Register the new card to online id. In any case, register for online id and see what date it says. Often with new card unless you have active card, the card fufillment won't pick up your member date automatically. The online id member since date is likely the more accurate one.

What happened with your second app for BCE?
I haven't heard back yet. Application is still listed as "In Progress".
I don't think it's looking too good for me though.
I got the original denial and here were the reasons:
My FICO according to them is 686 due to:
I do not understand this, How is there such a discrepancy between my EQ and my EX. Does Score Watch give you a FAKO when you get a score watch notification?
That being said, the EQ score is from a few months ago before I had 3-4 HPs on my reports, before I opened up a $500 limit card with local CU.
I don't understand the loan balances to loan amounts is too high either? I pay double the required amount per month. I'm picking it up to 6 times the amount next month though.

Kr33ker, what was your online member since date? Is the card reporting as 2008?
He said before that it said Member since '12. I was just gonna suggest that if he still has the log-in details for AU account, to log in with those and then try to link new account to that?

It says "THANK YOU FOR BEING A CARDMEMBER SINCE 2012".
Just looked at my application status on the recon of my BCE using the regular number, and I was denied...
Wonder if I can or even should try to recon through the Executive Office????? I could be trusted with a 50k limit.... give me 2k.............

Do you still have copy of your old AU card or the number anywhere? If so, just call general number on back of card and talk to rep. Say you have old card since 2008 and your new card doesn't say it. Give them the card number. If they agree to change, great. If they tell you no they can't do it, argue it a little and see if they change their mind. If they don't, hang up. Call again. If that doesn't work, call again. But don't get into any huge arguments that might make them notate account. I did it a couple of weekends ago for 3 different people where their new AMEX didn't pick up their AU member date. I think the most I had to try was 2 times.

At this point don't bother. If I remember correctly, you had pretty new and thin credit file. Go use that AMEX charge card responsibly for 6 months to 1 year. The AMEX revolver will be easy to get assuming your credit is still good then. AMEX's internal scoring engine seems to value their records of you highly. Remember because of AMEX backdating, the harm of new AMEX is lessened. In fact, probably better for you to shot for January 2013 to app for AMEX revolver. That way it will show open date of 1/2012 or 1/2008 (if you get backdating done) and be older than your AMEX charge card
. Remember AMEX denials for existing cardholders do not cost you hard inquiry.

Just went looking for it, and found it!!!
I already have the request in for them to change it. Should I wait till they give me a response on the current request to start calling again?
