This is probably the wrong place to place this but it is in regards to some many threads I see here.
Many people mention being declined for "not being able to establish identity". THAT TO ME would be one of the major reasons you need to check your credit report and see it has the correct information.
I know myself when I was approving credit that if an application has info regarding residence, etc that was different then what was being reported that was an immeadiate reason to STOP THE PROCESS and investigate. I am sure most in the Credit granting business feel that way.
Now I know I am the last person who should be saying this as I can not ever recall seeing my credit report. Then again, we have been in our home for the last 9 years, our phone numbers have not changed in that time, either regular or cell and my employment status has not changed. Also, when we moved in Feb of 2000 I called our Credit Card Companies and also sent them Certified letters giving them all the new info, address, phone numbers, about my retirement and income I was receiving, etc.
In todays mobile society, I know people move, change jobs, phones etc a lot so I'm sure it makes it hard on a Credit Bureau to keep accurate info unless informed by the consumer.
Please forgive me if this is in the wrong area or has been addressed before. I was just stating it because of the number of posts I see mentioning this problem.
