Late 2012 I believe. $300 rebuilder limit with no hope for growth; had it since 2007 at $300.
As I thought....
There have been others with what look like good files of cards, who get denied for CapOne. In all those cases I can recall, it turned out they previously had a card with CapOne, like such an HSBC Rebuilder card, but had closed it with no further continued relation with CapOne (the auto loan doesn't count). I refer to it as "closed the account with prejudice".
Then, when they see the large limits and come back to CapOne, there's something in the way CapOne looks at the cardholder and says "Y'all left the island before. Denied"
My opinion is, once in with CapOne, despite any AF situations or "it won't grow" the cardholder is better off just sticking with the card, keeping a CapOne card open, and EVOLVING the relationship with Capital One. Stay on the island! As the score improves, and CapOne has a constant window into some small part of the cardholders file, the next cards that are apped get better limits.
Yeah, I know that's not how it should be, but like it or not, that's how CapOne is.
This denial letter is simply a jumble. The bottom line is, they throw every possible reason onto the Denial letter, because the key word in the letter, as far as CapOne is concerned, is Denial.

Can always consider closing out credit lines you no longer use to free up avaialble credit.. Altough you still probably can be approved with cap1 possibly through recon or other lenders that don't mind such exposure and many people on this forum make say 100k and have 500k+ in available credit. Well not many, but a few..
Honestly Cap one changes all the time which score model they use. When i apped for a cli last week. They said my Equifax score was too low. im like how in the hell.
They said it was 658. So i looked over all reports and only thing i could find. Which got me to wondering. Was Beacon 5.0. Btw. Which in notice. its the same score when my EQ was 655. So how did all my other scores change when my fico went up 50 points . But my beacon score is still the same no matter what. interesting.

Not sure why you 05 scores are so low.. Probably due to AAoA? BTW Beacon 05 is the 04 I referred to.. Equifax is Beacon 05 TU/EXP is 04.. So ya in your scenario they used 04 model.. Sometimes they use their internal model as well in letters which could be a variant of Vantage?
No offense but if I was op, I wouldve just used Discover as a 2 percent general spend card for the time being. You have many other great cards with sufficient limits...I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around why you would even consider capital one, let alone a quicksilver card? I guess if you arent in the double cash back promo you could endure one more inquiry and get a citi double cash, and move some limits if you have to....

This makes a lot of sense to me. I've waffled on closing my QS. I was considering it just this morning. It's an HSBC evolved card too. I have managed to get it to 5k and get the AF waived permanently, but I feel like it'll just sit there forever. I guess as a just-in-case, I just let it sit there forever.

It's possible that its AAOA. As I am not getting a single point in that Category. But strange the other fico models changed bust not eq. So I noiced they only useless scores with venture card. I feel like I need another strong cap one card. But I'm not getting pre approval on anything except qs1 and plat. Guess I will wait even more

no offense taken jfriend33. I got my discover card a year ago, so unfortunately I don't qualify for the double cash, smh. With Citi, I just applied for the Sears MC a week ago and was approved, and I think I may be at my max with them; they gave me $6k. I'm in the Army, and I also applied for my government travel card with Citi within the same month, so that could've had something to do with it. I really just wanted the QS to have a good CapOne card. I was hoping they'd convince me their name wasn't Crapital One anymore lol
How the army has changed. We never had a travel credit card. Lmao. But I'm from a time just before mre's. C rats.

Good I was worried, lol.
If I were you...and this is a stretch... but unless you really really really want and need it, and want 100% certainty to have a card you can max out no ifs ands or butts....otherwise, you have a GREAT selection...CSP, SPG, couple Amex, bangin' 38k limit, etc.
Id go thru each card, see if u can get all aprs lowered if they arent in a promo.
You may benefit from a chase freedom when the signup bonus is 200-300 and send those as UR to your CSP....I kinda like how those two work together despite my hatred towards chase. not sure how many new accounts you have or if that would hinder your ability to get a freedom though.
Jealous of that walmart discover, wish I had one for sams...
Sorry, not to sound judgy or anything....but ya, they denied you, forget them!
