Authorized User on Macy's Store Card

Recently added as a joint user to my Mother's Macy Card.  Do I have to activate and/or use the card for it to start being reported on my credit reports?

No but if you dont live at the same address it may never show up as indicated in this thread.

I have been added to a Macy's card for a month. However the Account Holder and I live at different addresses. So far no TL listed on my CR. Will give it another month or so. Or I will simply call and inquire.
