Hello,
I'm new around here and trying to figure out some things before I apply for an FHA loan.
I checked my reports last Friday 2/13. EQ=654, TU=646, but EX=594
I am an authorized user on my mom's cc that has a 10K limit, but the balance owed right now is 8K.. She removed me as an authorized user on Saturday so that won't be on my EX report making my TU and EQ reports pretty identical. This cc only reports to EX, which is most likely the reason why my EX score is so much lower? Is that reasonable?
Anyway, how long does it normally take for a cc to report a change in authorized users? Would I have to wait until the current statement closes next week? Or is that a status change only and they report right away?
I'd like to estimate when to pull my reports and score again before I apply for a morgage. Thanks!
Hi Alma
good decision in taking you off that card. This is pretty much the reason why you have a lower score on your EX if everything else is the same.
When the statement cuts, it will report to the CB's. The first CB to report should be EX and then EQ and TU to follow.
I would wait 10-14 days after the statement cuts to pull your report. This would ensure your reports updating.
Hope this helps and keep us updated
Great! Thanks for the advice.
I have two other credit cards:
HSBC - $475 with CL of 500 - Paid off in full on 2/13
Premier Bank - $318 with CL of 350 - Paid off in full on 2/13
and then my mom's CC on my EX only...
I am hoping all my scores go up after the $0 balances report, but I missed the statement cut off for the HSBC card by a day, so end of March it will still show $475 balance, so I will have to wait until April to see the impact. I am hoping it raises my scores at least 30 points, since I have no late payments or derogatories in the last 3 years, which means the high UTIL is the one thing hurting me the most right now. Sound reasonable?
Thanks again for the help and the advice. I love this forum!
