Authorized Users

Hey guys,

I was recently removed as an authorized user (about 3-4 months ago) on a credit card account that I shared with my Mom. However, my credit report still lists the account on my profile. How long, if ever, does it take for the account to be removed from my credit report?

Thanks!

Re: Authorized Users

I disputed the items on the report claiming they werent mine and that I was taken off the account. They were off the CR in less than 30 days.

Re: Authorized Users

Is it a positive tradeline for you? If there's no lates and utilization was low, it's only helping you.

Re: Authorized Users

Definitely a negative. The account has a utilization of 90%. Apparently my Mom found it a good idea to transfer a large balance to that account and she plans on paying it down over 2 years-- much too long in my books.

I made a dispute to all 3 bureaus about it already, but only 2 have replied so far. Transunion removed it from my credit profile and for some reason Experian is leaving it on my account. I reckon there will be some large discrepancies between my scores because of this, but we'll see.
