Thanks, back at'cha!
Yeah, a Chapter 13 is not for the faint of heart, sooooo glad it's pretty much in the rear view mirror. Come April of next year all of my new applications should be at least 13 months old, all of my new accounts should also be that age as well, and my bankruptcy notation on my credit reports should also be history.
When our financial world collapsed as a down-stream effect of the recession and then both of our businesses failed, we moved into a small and very inexpensive apartment in the vain hope of avoiding bankruptcy; didn't work. Now that the payments to the Trustee have ceased, we're making "bank" as fast as we can so we can put a healthy downstroke on a home next spring.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
Well, I had to move during this pandemic. Sold my house during BK13 (that was a process) and was able to get a mortgage for a new home even while in BK. It was a really long process. If you have any issues with the companies you apply with, Guild Mortgage was the only lender willing to take a chance and I even locked in the great rates we have going on right now 2.5%. Amazing service and they were all over every communication I had with them. Highly recommended.
In case you were wondering how I did it while still making payments to trustee, I made the down payment for new house with the equity from my sale. Just happened to work out well.
Good luck to you! I hope you get your new home soon.

Thanks for the advice!
We're in an unusual situation right now in that we're both in our mid-sixties, and oddly enough, from an employment perspective, hot commodties; who'da thunk it? As things stand, I'm being actively recruited for positions pretty much all over the globe; virtually all are work from home for the duration of the COVID thing, which is difficult in this tiny apartment, but all of which will require a move sometime in the next year. Currently the two most promising are in Virginia and North Carolina; both just a tad different from pretty much any perspective you choose compared to our current digs in rural New England.
The next year should be quite memorable.
