DIsregard this comment, the OP cancelled the card already.
Credit Karma recommendations are smoke and mirrors. They have me preapproved for the new Ollo card. I laughed and looke at my weekely report. You may have to just keep it before the next AF and dump it. They are another subprime card. It seems another one is born every quarter or two since I started my credit journey.
@Anonymouswrote:Ok, good news. Supervisor #3 waived the AF despite activation.
I requested some kind of document showing that the card would be immediately closed with a $0.00 balance for my records.
They seemed a bit insulted.
I said, "I truly appreciate your consideration and the fact you've waived this fee for me, I just want to protect myself against any automated system or computer error. If it shows up in a month or two as a bad mark showing that I owe $29.00, I'd just like something to reference back to the fact that you did this for me."
They said they can't do it until the account is officially closed out in their system and they'll send me an email.
Should I trust them? Anything else I can do?
There's nothing else you can do. Be sure to write down everyone you've talked and when, then wait for the email.
Avant is a subprime personal loan house. Chances are any credit card branded with thier name is going after that same subprime market. You dodged a bullet

Not really :-( I still got the card, so it's still going to go on my credit, but hey, I guess it'll at least show that I immediately closed it.
