Just got my letter from BBRZ one why I was denied a CLI.
Reasons were.
Length of Time account have been established.
Number of Bank or National Revolving/ Open Accounts
Also said I have a score of 153 on a range from a low of 1500 to a high of 1
That score I've no idea about.
But it seems kinda weird one reason is established length of time. Maybe not established would have made more since but my AAoA's is now 5.4 years.
Number of account but be skewed due to my student loan being transferred 3 times and has 5 entries on CR but never late.
But I know one way to lower the amount of accounts by 1.... Killing my BBRZ card. Had it for 13 month and still at 300. But it's about to be closed. My FICO is now between 730 and 750 so this CL might be holding me back more then helping anymore.
how long ago were your oldest credit cards opened, and how many do you have?
Oldest CC is 2 years, with 9 cards. about to be 7 (Discover, Chase, Wal-mart, Amazon, WF, Alliant, AMEX, BBRZ, and CapOne) . All of them a year or older, except Alliant and AMEX, they were open in December.
Plan on Axing CapOne and BBRZ, just wanted to see if their was any chance it would grow at all. Only CL's under 1k are those 2, also only 2 I have with any AF.
Sorry to hear about the bbrz card, but have you tried getting cli's on your GE cards? BBRZ are very frugal and like to constantly keep you where you are at while other cards will see your progress and let you move on.![]()
hmm. Not a ridiculously short age, but they are under CapOne now, who are known to be kinda stingy to those without "excellent" credit (to them that means 3 years revolving history with a 5K+ line) How much are you asking for, and how is the credit limit now in relation to your other cards?
I'm not really sweating it.
I have gotten CLI on my other cards no problem. Just last week Wal-mart was increased to $3,036. My other cards range from 1k-15k CL's. So the only 2 cards I have to have never gotten an increase are both the Cap 1 cards now. (well Cap 1, No hassles actually stated at 500 and now 750 but that was steps.
Just confused about their score system. (Low of 1500 and high of 1, I'm 153) Its like a reverse SAT score or something lol
Best Buy still gives credit limit increases easily on the store card. I don't think the change from HSBC to CapOne has changed the process much. The MasterCard is pretty low limits though and it's hard to get big increases. The store card will grow very fast on you unlike the MC. I was approved for $3K on Black Friday and got a increase 6 months later to $4500 on the store card.
